In the 5,000 years that have passed since the first study of astrology was recorded, the twelve signs of the zodiac have acquired their own special characterizations, meanings, and special associations. Hundreds of years before the time of Christ, Greek philosophers formulated the theory of “Man in Microcosm,” a theory that effectively states that, as human beings, we are miniature versions of the cosmos. Many would say that each astrological sign is a miniature book of knowledge, and all twelve put together give an overarching picture of human beings, our bodies, minds, emotions, and the world that we live in. Today, I’m here to do a deep dive into your specific zodiac sign, and hopefully, read you like an absolute book. This article is meant in no way to be stereotypical, offensive, or harmful to any one sign– I’m just here to state the facts. 

Aries (March 21st-April 19th) – Most Likable Trait: COURAGE 

Aries is the first sign of the zodiac, and it is known for being the sign of new beginnings. Aries’ lives are totally unpredictable as you are constantly being turned in new directions. Safe to say your life is one big adventure. Aries may find themselves being naturally restless characters, the type of person who would say “grant me patience NOW!” When someone first meets you, they automatically see you as somebody exciting, vibrant, and talkative, and let’s be honest, they’ll be lucky if they can get a word in edgewise! There is nothing faint or half-hearted about an Aries Whereas others may be more cautious, Aries enjoy living on the absolute edge—a touch of recklessness is exactly what you need to feel alive. Aries is known for having an absolute uncrackable optimism, but overtly also notorious for taking umbrage at the slightest offenses. Perhaps you have been called a hot head or are known for throwing somewhat childish tantrums; it’s okay, it’s not your fault, you’re an Aries.

Taurus (April 20th-May 20th) – Most Likable Trait: Dependability 

I’m going to tell you a secret: you guys are my favorite sign. You guys are the people who others count on to come in clutch—the one who perseveres when others’ spirits may have fallen. Your greatest strength resides in your tenacity and steady, relentless drive. You are a purposeful achiever with endless patience to see a task through and make it a success. You are an immovable force. Because of this, your worst trait tends to be your stubbornness. You are absolutely NOT fond of change; you simply cannot be rushed into anything new. All of this being said, everybody knows you have a temper. Generally, you are fairly equable and patient, and only when severely opposed have you or will you ever become angry.  Unless someone SERIOUSLY provokes you, you are basically as harmful as a caterpillar. You are caring, giving, kind, affectionate, and hold a great fondness for all things beautiful. People look to you as a dependable, serene influence; however, not many people would realize that you’re sensitive and easily wounded. Gemini (May 21st-June 20th) – Most likeable trait: Responsiveness 

Listen, you Gemini get a bad wrap, and today I’m here to squash that stereotype. Gemini are known for being many-sided, quick in thought, clever with words, skillful at handling others, and overflowing with new ideas. Astrologers regard this sign as quintessentially a human sign, for it seems to basically sum up qualities that are distinguishing hallmarks of the human race. These qualities include intelligence, adaptability, and communication. Gemini are endlessly curious about literally everything and MUST be a part of the busy passing scene. If the world is a stage, Gemini must be the actor. Unlike Leo who would want to be the star, Gemini just wants to play ALL of the parts. Duality is your most famous trait; you want more than one of everything. This includes jobs, hobbies, careers, even lovers. You’re constantly restless, on the go, in quest of new ideas and people. You tend to focus your energy on too many projects instead of just concentrating your smarts on one task.  You are also born with the remarkable gift of persuasion—you could probably sell ice to somebody in Antarctica.

Cancer (June 21st-July 22nd)- Most Likable Trait: LOYALTY 

As a Cancer, I have frequently been told by every human ever that I am a Cancer. Cancerians are the opposite of easy to understand. Perhaps when you picture a Cancer, you picture an absolute crybaby who is constantly emotional. This is true to a large extent; Cancers are known for their gentleness, kindness, sympathy, and patient listening skills; however, we also have been known to turn cranky, snappish, and endlessly wallow in self-pity, complaining about how mistreated we are by the world due to our kindness. Yet, the next day you will most likely be helpful, social, and ready to do anything asked of you. Cancer is the most contradicting sign in the universe. Complex, fragile, and unpredictable, the typical Cancer needs constant support and encouragement. You desperately want to be loved and approved of, but so greatly resent needing this approval to feel good about yourself. Cancers are such nurturers and give unselfishly to anyone who may need it. We have that water-sign-like instinct of making others feel cared for and loved. You also tend to be a worrier and silent brooder. You win some, you lose some.

Leo ((July 23rd-August 22nd)– Most Likable Trait: EXUBERANCE 

You Leo’s are absolute spit-fires. Your loyalty is a BEYOND question. Largely, you are devoted to yourself. If all Leo possesses a kingdom, they themselves are the king of that kingdom. While others may wait in the wings, you bask in the spotlight. Whatever you do, you do it with flair and a dramatic entrance. When you enter a room, you secretly hope everyone will stand up and start singing Hallelujah stanzas, and may I say, the party actually DOESN’T start until you walk in. You’re witty, vivacious, a fluent talker, and a born entertainer. Your energy is absolutely electric and people gravitate to you like a steel magnet. Because of your sun sign, you may find yourself getting in the middle of the drama, yet you can’t help it. You have a flamboyant and expansive presence. Luxury may be as vital to you as breathing as you want to enjoy the good life. You’re generous, kind, and open-hearted, and you find it extremely hard to think ill of others. When injured, you may strike back fast, but you never hold a grudge as you forgive super easily. Honestly, you make the ultimate best friend.

Virgo (August 23rd- September 22nd)– Most Likable Trait: CONSCIENTIOUSNESS 

Virgo’s are known to give the impression of absolute calm authority to the world, but only you are truly aware of your own restlessness and nervousness. You are constantly trying to improve yourself and do better. You can exhaust yourself by simply sitting and thinking for long periods of time. Your ceaseless energy is directed towards trying to accomplish and perfect every aspect of your life. It is absolutely impossible for you to put that assignment off until tomorrow, and you are in one word: organized. You don’t daydream, you day-DO. Intelligence is the absolute hallmark of your sign; you are known for having an excellent memory, an analytical mind, and crystal-clear thinking. Your superb logic cuts through muddled thinking like a laser beam. You constantly put your faith in facts and tend to judge those who make emotional judgments and decisions. You have plenty of willpower and dedication, and you work harder than anyone due to your incessant fear of failure.

You possess the gift of making others feel important because of your superb listening skills, and you instinctively know how to draw out another person. You’re famously known for your ability to quickly smooth over conflict, bring out smiles, and make other people think they’re the most wonderful in the world. In one word, you’re a charmer. However, you may be a narcissist at heart, constantly expecting admiration from those around you. Because of this, you also tend to judge others by their appearances.  This is not to say you aren’t a people person; nay, Libra’s are the ULTIMATE people person. Whether it be lovers, family, friends, or even a random guest at your party, relationships are your metier. You are known to clearly see every side of an argument, and you are always striving for balance and harmony.

Scorpio (October 23rd-November 21st)– Most Likable Trait: IDEALISM 

Scorpio is the sign of absolute EXTREMES. Scorpio people are variously described as powerful, weak, independent, clingy, passionate, and cold. Clearly, you are just one big bundle of contradictions, encompassing both the best and worst in human nature. The key to your personality is INTENSITY. You do nothing at half-mast. You are absolutely magnetic, emotional, and capable of tremendous force. To some, you may appear impassive, sometimes unapproachable, but turbulent passion is always rolling underneath the surface. While you present calm to the world, you are secretly extremely strong-willed and heavily persistent. Sagittarius (November 23rd-December 21st)– Most Likable trait: OPTIMISM 

Ruled by the planet of fortune, you Sagittarius appear to absolutely breeze through life. For millennia, astrologers have said that Saggitarius has the gift of providence— basically, luck protects you. In work, friendships, careers, and money, a door opens just when you need it. Because of all of this, you have a naturally cheerful and lively disposition. While everyone experiences their dark moments, you are too interested in tomorrow to truly worry about what went wrong today. Independence is your guiding principle, you are known to be progressive(restless even), and you tend to walk through life with a free and adventurous spirit. You thrive on new ideas and constant changes in scenery. Something about Sagittarians is that they rarely talk about their feelings and, instead, they talk about what they THINK of their feelings. Time and time again, Sagittarians are bewildered when their romantic partners ask for more passion and emotion–and this is because you keep one eye on the exit door. Capricorn (December 22nd- January 19th)– Most Likable Trait: STEADINESS 

If there is one thing about you Capricorns, it is that you are ambitious and marked by a purposeful pursuit to get whatever you want. Your motivating force is very much success, money, status, position, authority–and though you may not realize it– love. Capricorn is the sign most geared towards leadership and power, and in knowing this, you are probably someone who is a high achiever. As long as there is a top to get to from the bottom, you will get there. Another thing about you is that you have a heightened sense of time; this basically means that you are a superbly organized planner. Unlike me who doesn’t look past the next day, you guys are carefully examining your goal, separating it into all your necessary steps, and then plotting out a long-term timetable. The good thing about this characterization is that you learn to truly wait for the things that you want. Others may have told you before that it seems as though an aura of sadness/sternness follows you around. This really is just a reflection of your hard work, discipline, responsibility, and restriction showing through. You always need something to improve to perfection, and you’re known for your admirable ability to concentrate.

Aquarius (January 20th- February 18th)– Most Likable Trait: FRIENDLINESS 

If you are an Aquarius, my guess is that you have been called weird before, and I DON’T mean this in a bad way. Astrologically speaking, you guys are quite literally the most unorthodox sign in the zodiac. You guys are, if I may, kind of quirky and different. You’re original, sort of wacky perhaps, witty people who REFUSE to follow the crowd. But this is all in good spirit, for you like being this way! Your most marked characteristic (besides being quirky) is your intellectual independence. However, some may find this level of independence annoying when you are known to refuse compromises or give an inch on set agreements. It’s all okay though because you cheerfully ignore what others think and strike off to find a new path. You think there is absolutely nothing worse than being boring, and you try to avoid being boring in every sense possible. You’re a sign of paradoxes emotionally, for you enjoy being out with people, but are also entirely content alone. You like to travel, but also appreciate the familiarity of your town. You are friendly and outgoing, but also detached and reserved. You have both a scientific and artistic state of mind. One of the most admirable things about you, along with your kindness, is your ability to be objective in judgment, for you don’t let emotion get in the way.

Pisces (February 19th-March 20th)– Most Likable Trait: COMPASSION 

Last, but certainly not least, are Pisces! Pisces is the 12th and final zodiac, and while Aries is the sign of birth, Pisces is the sign of reincarnation. As Pisces, astrologers argue that you have the greatest ability of the zodiac to see into the human psyche. You’re known to be subtle and intuitive, and have the closest relationship with astral forces. Because of this, you always feel things before you know them, and trust me when I say, those feelings are never wrong. Whenever you get a hunch, others would be wise to pay attention. More so than the other signs, you are enormously influenced by your surroundings and the people you chose to be around. You have extreme and crippling sympathy for anyone or anything that hurts; sick plants, hungry animals, friends in need– they all make you cry. At times you tend to give away the strength and emotional security that you truly may need yourself. You possess superb intuition and seemingly bottomless understanding about others, yet your extreme sensitivity is 100% your most vulnerable point. For you, learning to say NO is a lifetime project. Ancient astrologers call Pisces “The Sorrow From Self-Undoing,” for you can easily become the creator of your own downfall.
