In two days, the second annual Chick-Fil-A 5K run will take place at Heritage High. Here’s all you need to know.
Is it too late to sign up?
Not at all. You can sign up until 3 am on Saturday, the day of the race. Click here if you’re interested. $30 for the 5k, $15 for the Kids Fun Run, and a $2.50 sign up fee.
$30 to run?! Where does all that money go?
To Hope House of Wake Forest, a nonprofit organization that assists at-risk children in Wake Forest. Their projects include weekly food pantries, free dental care, and student book bag and school supplies giveaways.
Where will runners be running?
The course is outlined below.
When will runners be running?
From 9:00 am to 12:30 am. The Kids’ fun run will start 10 minutes later.
Will there be free Chick-Fil-A?
Not for everyone. For volunteers only. If the golden taste of Chick-Fil-A is warming you up to the idea of being a volunteer, sign up here. Hurry up, though; there are very few spots left!
What’s with all the groups and teams this year?
Heritage’s Chick-Fil-A Leader Academy, the student-led organizers of the run, have made it a point to reach more kids and teenagers this year. As a result of their reaching out to Heritage Elementary, Heritage Middle, and Wake Forest Middle, many teachers from these three schools have signed their classes up.
Several Heritage sports team, including baseball and women’s basketball, have also signed up in hopes that their team will have the most signups and receive a Chick-Fil-A party.
