Introducing Cookout!

Yes, you read that right. And no, you’re not dreaming. Cookout is coming to Wake Forest.

The very popular late-night grub spot known as “Cookout” is being built at the corner of Forestville Road and Foundation Drive. Cookout offers everything from hamburgers and chicken to quesadillas and corndogs. They also carry an assortment of sides and over 40 flavors of milkshakes. Name one and chances are they can make it.

I’m still trying to decide if this is a good or bad thing. Kids have been begging for a Cookout in Wake Forest for YEARS, but when I heard the news, I couldn’t believe it. I’m serious, I actually couldn’t believe it. I also can’t believe the fact that people will be willing to wait two hours for their food when they can just eat the grass right next to it for the same taste. And people think I’m kidding when I say that. You want to make a Cookout run at midnight? Well, prepare to be home around 4:00 a.m. because everyone and their brother will be there.

Now don’t even get me started on what it’ll be like out there for school lunch. World War III will probably be the closest thing to it. You might as well go to the one on Capital or otherwise, you’ll be late, and I hope your teacher laughs in your face. You think I’m kidding? While everyone is at Cookout for lunch, I’ll stop at Chick-Fil-A. I might even swing by my house and chill with my dog since I have the time. Enjoy your cold Cookout Tray, though.

If you’ve never been to Cookout, then you’re in for a real treat. I know I already trashed it enough by making fun of the long lines and below-average food, but trust me, it’s quite the experience. You never know who or what will show up while you’re there! If nothing happens, you didn’t wait long enough. And if you did, you had plenty of time to look over the menu. Okay, I may be capping slightly. Cookout is DECENT at best, and it’s hard to name something better than making a late-night Cookout run with the boys. A little “Bookout” in the Forest wouldn’t hurt anyone. Though we all know why everyone’s there and that reason will remain undisclosed.
