It’s December, and you know what that means! Festive decorations, bright lights, tasty treats, toasty refreshments, and aesthetically wrapped gifts. While we celebrate the merry season with our closest family and friends, we must remember that this is also the season of giving. This year, to give back to our community, Heritage is participating in the 10 Days of Giving from December 11th to the 21st with a variety of charitable opportunities.
Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays will be selling days. Buy a Candy Gram, ornament, Zumba tickets, or other holiday gifts. The Zumba tickets will be on sale for a Zumbathon on Saturday the 16th from 6:30-8:30pm. All proceeds collected from the $5 admission will go to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital.
Tuesdays and Thursdays will be donation days. Located by the SGA board, clubs and honors societies will each have individual drives for a specific requests as follows:
National Honors Society: Winter Clothing
Ladies and Men of Distinction: Socks
All Language Honor Societies: Canned Foods
English Honor Society: Books
Math and Science Honor Societies: Toys
In addition, HOSA will be collecting coloring and activity books, crayons, and colored pencils throughout the week of December 4t. Eligible for 30 minutes of NHS service hours per item, donations can be dropped off in the morning and at Husky Help in the Cafeteria. All benefits will go to WakeMed Children’s Hospital.
Lastly, SGA is hosting a movie night on Thursday, December 21st. For only $3, join your fellow Huskies at 7pm in the Theatre to enjoy the holiday hit, Elf. Don’t forget to wear your flannel pajamas!
