Everything you Need to Know About Spirit Week

By: Chris Long

With homecoming right around the corner, the Heritage Student Government Association (SGA) is, again, readying for spirit week. This year, the themes were partly chosen by the student body through a vote during advisory on September 2nd. Spirit week begins Monday September 26 and runs through Friday September 30, the day of homecoming football game against Sanderson. Spirit week is as follows:

Monday will be Favorite Team Day. Students are encouraged to wear apparel from their favorite sports team. Regardless of the team or the sport, represent your team on Monday for the school community.

Tuesday will be Tie-Dye Day. Wear bright colored or tie-dye shirts to light up the hallways.

Wednesday will be Holiday Day. On Wednesday students should wear apparel from their favorite holiday. Why keep your ugly Christmas sweaters packed away until December? Break them out and get them ready for Wednesday.

Thursday will be Throwback Thursday. Dress up like you are a high school student from a former generation. Feel free to pick any generation you would like. After school on Thursday will be the annual powderpuff football game. Come out and support the Lady Huskies as the juniors take on the seniors.

Friday, as always, is Husky Spirit Day. Students, show your Husky Pride! Wear something Heritage related and get ready for the Homecoming game. The school-wide pep rally will also be held on the same day during 4th period. Students will be released to the stadium with their third period class, and will sit in sections by their grade level. The game will take place at Husky Stadium on Friday night at 7:00pm. During halftime, various Heritage clubs will have representatives on the field and the homecoming king and queen will be announced.

The 2016 Homecoming Dance will take place on Saturday October 1st, from 7-11pm in the Heritage main gym. Tickets for the dance will be available for purchase through September 29th during all lunches on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday. Tickets are $10.
